I-MODE ESSAYS
Having been involved in Rockman i-mode preservation projects since January 2021, I have a deep passion for the now-deceased gaming platform. A month before the i-mode website shutdown on 11/30/21, I wrote an open letter to video game preservation organizations, urging them to start raising awareness about preserving i-mode games before it was too late. Following the i-mode shutdown, I wrote a follow-up to this open letter, reflecting on my experiences and how we can learn from this crisis.
