Hi there! I'm RockmanCosmo,
a game preservationist who specializes in Japanese feature phone (keitai) games. Keitai games, released on early 2000s Japanese cell phones, were the precursors to modern mobile games as we know them. Unfortunately, most have been lost to time, and they face great preservation hurdles. From writing articles to speaking at conferences, I have advocated for the preservation of keitai games for over four years. My game preservation work has also been featured on outlets like Time Extension and Games Radar. Since December 2020, I have been the leader of SciLab Secrets, the Mega Man keitai game preservation project. As of March 2024, we have preserved nine previously-lost Mega Man keitai games on Japanese feature phones, including the full versions of Rockman.EXE Phantom of Network, Rockman.EXE Legend of Network, and Rockman DASH: Great Adventure on 5 Islands. I post formal updates on the Rockman Corner blog, although I occasionally use this site's blog too. Previously, I worked to preserve Japanese-exclusive MegaMan written materials. The material I have worked with has been out of print for decades and are locked behind a language barrier. As such, I organized scanlation projects to preserve these tangible pieces of history and make them more accessible to an English-speaking audience. I strived to make my projects as accurate and faithful to the original material as possible. Click on the "Projects" header above to see those scanlation projects. *NOTE: Everything that I have and will scanlate has been out of print for decades. I am not profiting off of any of these projects. If these books and comics are reprinted and localized in English, I will pull my scanlations immediately. |
